ALL TOGETHER NOW

(scroll down for English)

THE ISSUE magazine son 4 chicas : Marta Peleteiro, Gemma Estrela, Sarah Alcalay y Lorena Mariño.

Peace, Love and New Shoes.

Interaction
That's the key word. The word behing all the relevant movements on these last years. The word that is the only weapon we have left to fight this economical and moral crisis we are living.
Interaction between people willing to change things and with the ideas to do so. Interaction between this people, the companies, the entities in charge of the resourses that are necessary to to do and the governments that should provide a positive enviroment for them to develop.

It looks like an utopy, but if you think about it for just one minute you realize that many of the things we use everyday are based on sinergy and interaction between people.
Movements iniciated trought social networks such as twitter and facebook helped ending Mubarak's regime. It was trough this networks that the juvenile movement of 15M organized itself and expanded worldwide in such a short time.
The sistem based on thousends of users uploading and sharing their files for public use has frighten musical and cinema producers so much to the point of requesting a law that forbids it.

On a more mundane level, we found the "colective purchasing platforms" Such as Groupon or Let's bonus, that joining many users with a common need (or crave) allow the single purchaser to have a much better buying price than he would have by himself. They also promote comerces that might have much less public otherwise.

We ofter hear people saying that our's is a lost generation. That because the crisis we have to life we will start working late and unprepaired for it, have no resourses and our walk trough this earth will leave no sign to the course of history. I disagree. We are the generation (no longer of information) but of comunicacion. The sinergy generation.

On the fashion-related department we have some nice examples too. Perhaps the most relevant is the blogger and street-styler movement, promoted by street-style sharing platforms such as Lookbook or chicisimo, where people can upload pictures of themselves and their outfits which other users can comment, vote, share...and that are constant inspiration for people and for companies, because in fashion, everything is conected and everything is good feedback.

On the other hand, making good use of the Blog platforms and the many social networks (as free difussion media) are born many on-line magazines of all kings, created and directed by young people to diffuse other young people's work. This is the case of THE ISSUE.

THE ISSUE magazine are 4 young women : Marta Peleteiro, Gemma Estrela, Sarah Alcalay and Lorena Mariño. Four young women from different places, with different educational and proffesional backgrounds but a common passion for fashion and Art that has lead them to create a platform on wich they show contents of current events and promote the participation of anyone who, like them, has something to say and need a way to do so.

This is the reason why is for me an honour and a pleasure to able to colaborate with them : Because they are young, they are passionate and they know what they are doing. Here you can read the post I wrote for their blog.

The message of this story is easy : When bad times come, sinergy. And if you don't seem to see your path clear, make another one.

As allways :

Peace, Love & New Shoes
