Cada vez que se acerca la Navidad, tengo la misma sensación de nostalgia por la niñez. No os pasa a todos que veís a las caritas de los más peques llenas de ilusión por la magia de la navidad y no podéis evitar moriros de envidia un poquito porque en el fondo sabéis que nunca podréis volver a sentir lo mismo? Ese cosquilleo en el estómago la noche del 5 de enero, cuando a cada ruido que se oía fuera de tu puerta apretabas muy fuerte muy fuerte los ojos mientras te decias "duérmete, duérmete, duérmete", para luego despertarte a las seis de la mañana para salir escopeteado a ver que había debajo del árbol...
Últimamente con gente distinta, grupos irrelacionados de personas he tenido la misma conversacion, sobre como el mundo parece que nos quita poquito a poco la capacidad de sorprendernos y maravillarnos con las mismas cosas, y que fabuloso sería poder volver a ver el mundo a través de los ojos de un crío...
Creo que todos tenemos, en menor o mayor medida, un latente complejo de Peter Pan, y creo que épocas tan inciertas como ésta aflora a la superficie.
Puede que esto esté detrás de la tendencia que hay ahora a la imagen de la inocencia : Las modelos y las actrices antes tenían que dar imagen de juventud, ahora se busca la imagen de la infancia, de inocencia, de dulzura. No estamos hablando ya de Lolitas de precoz sensualidad, sino de actrices que o buscan o bien refuerzan su imagen juvenil, con estilismos, ropa y maquillajes de tono naïve e infantil.
Uno de los "memes" de esta tendencia es el cuello Peter Pan. Bien como parte de la prenda o como postizo que añadir al look, lo hemos visto en pasarela, en las celebrities, las bloggers y en las tiendas, ya de hace meses, pero en lugar de desaparecer parece que va tomando cada vez más fuerza.
Un pequeño símbolo de esa niñez que ya se nos ha ido pero a la que ninguno parecemos saber renunciar del todo...

This time of year, with Christmas this near, I allways get this same feeling of nostalgy of childhood...Is just that, when seeing the little faces of the smallest ones of the house, full with amusement of the Christmas magic, I cant help feeling a little jelousy and regret that I will not be able to have that same feeling again...Those butterflies in the stomach on christmas night, while closing your eyes really hard every time you heard the smallest noise outside your door, telling to yourself "fall asleep, fall asleep, fall asleep"...and then...at 6am go running to the christmas tree to see what was under it...
Lately, whith different, unrelated groups of people I have had this conversation on how awful is the way life takes away that ability to feel that amusement towards every single thing, and how great would it be to be able to see the world through a kid's eyes...
I think each and everyone of us have a smaller or bigger latent Peter Pan complex, and I believe that in times as uncertain as this one, this feeling becomes evident.
This might be behind the trend we have been noticing towards the image of innocence: Models and actresses have always tended to be an image of youth: now, it has gone further, and what companies and designers look for is the image of pureness, innocence, childhood itslef. We are not talking anymore of Lolitas with an early sensuality; but real juvenile-looking girl womans. Actresses and models that reinforce or try to show a naïve and childish look.
One of the "memes" of this trendis the Peter Pan collar; wether as part of the garment itself or as an accesorie you can add to your look. We have seen it in catwalks, celebrities, bloggers and in stores, since a couple of years now. Oddly, instead of burning out, in seems to become more and more popular with time.
A little scent of that lost childhood we can't resist to try to hold on to...
